About Japan by the Book

Trip planning for Japan, with the source attached: what needs booking and how far ahead, what things actually cost, and the rule changes that make older advice wrong.

How each page is checked

Every claim comes from the operator’s own page or a public body’s document — a venue’s ticket page, a ministry’s notice, an official guideline. Where a source exists in both Japanese and English we read both, and when they disagree we say so rather than pick one. Each page lists its sources and the date they were checked. If no official source answers a question, the page says that instead of guessing.

Who runs it

Japan by the Book is written in Japan and run by At-hop Inc. (株式会社アットホップ), based in Sakai, Osaka.
